New Year 11 Engage Evening - Thursday 19th July

New Y11 Engage Evening: Supporting Year 11 to achieve their full potential

I would like to invite you and your child to our Year 11 ‘Engage’ evening on Thursday 19th July.  The evening will run from 4.30pm until 6.30pm and is designed to provide parents with advice, guidance and information on how best you can support your children as they moves into their final year at High School and approaches the final GCSE Examinations.

The evening will consist of:

Subject Stands (Theatre and Hall 2)

Subject Leaders will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have about the GCSE courses. They can provide information on remaining course content, any pieces of topic work that requires completion (including deadline dates) and revision resources available to students.  They can also advise on any work that your child would benefit from completing over the summer holidays.

Revision Strategy Session (Hall 3)

Mrs Rollins, our Lead Practitioner for Teaching & Learning (MAT), will be holding Revision Strategy sessions throughout the evening at 4.40pm, 5.10pm, 5.40pm and 6.10pm. Upon your arrival at school you will be assigned a seat in one of these sessions.

Student Support, Wellbeing Centre and Special Education Needs

Our school support team will be on hand to offer advice on how to support students who suffer from anxiety, low self-esteem, or any other mental health issues, as well as any behavioural concerns that you may have. Staff from our Special Education Needs Department will also be present to discuss the support that can be offered to students who may require additional help in both the run up to and during the exam season.

GCSE Revision Guides will be available to purchase on the night.

I hope that you welcome this early opportunity to discuss the support available for New Year 11 students as they enter the final year of High School. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 19th July.  Please enter the school using the Theatre entrance.
