Principals latest letter to Parents
12th June 2018
I am pleased to inform you that after our Ofsted Monitoring visit on 22nd May 2018 our inspection monitoring report is now available and can be found on the school website.
The report states that:
‘Senior leaders and governors are taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement identified at the last section 5 inspection in order for the school to become good’.
This is the best judgement that we could have received at this stage and is further validation that our school is continuing to improve.
We still have key areas where we must keep improving and are working with urgency to address these. However, following on from our much improved results in 2017, an increase in student numbers for 2018 and greater staff stability, this is further ratification that we are moving from strength to strength.
This week we say ‘goodbye’ to our Year 11 cohort as they finish their exams and we wish them all the very best for the future. From Monday 18th June, we roll our timetable forward and all year groups move into their new year. As a part of the new timetable, we are making some slight changes: students will go straight to their Period 1 lesson at 8.40am, rather than going to their Tutor Time and break and lunch times will be adjusted to minimize the amount of student movement around school. This will be communicated to students throughout this week.
We will have met with all of our new parents / carers of our New Year 7 cohort by the end of this week to help ensure of a smooth transition to high school. This will be our biggest year group and we are excited at the impact they will have upon our school.
I am extremely proud of our school; we are making good progress in all areas, strengthening in the quality of staff working your children and are moving forward at pace #nolimits.
As your son / daughter moves into their ‘new’ year group, I would like to encourage you to make contact with any member of staff if you have any questions or require information that will help with transition.
Thank you for your continuous support, together we are stronger.
J. Christian (Mr)
